Best Super Bowl Ad

I know there is much discussion out there about the best Super Bowl ad, but I really don’t see how. Clearly the best of them all is the ad for Hulu seen below:

That’s really all there is to say.

Other than that the worst of them all were any of the godaddy.com ads.

Alec Baldwin…you rock!  and so do you Hulu!

100 Push-ups

A few months ago I stumbled across the website 100 Pushups. I thought, hey, that would be fun to try. Now that it’s January and I’m supposed to have some kind of goal for the year, I’m going to give it a shot. It should take me six weeks. I will report back at the end of each week to share my progress. If I make it, I will post a video of me doing my 100. Wish me luck!

Why the NFL Rules

I should probably wait until the last game of the weekend is over, but I can’t. This weekend of NFL football has been amazing!

In how many sports can two, TWO bottom seeds knock of the two top seeds? And as of this point one of the two #2 seeds has been knocked out too. That is crazy.  I’m not a statistician, and I haven’t checked yet, but I’m betting that there’s never been a Conference Championship game with a #6 vs #4. Do you know how unlikely that is?

nflplayoffs

How special is this year? Not only have the Arizona Cardinals won their first home playoff game since 1947, they’ve made it to their first Conference Championship game, and that game will be a home game for them!!!  This is craziness at its best. No one gave the Cardinals a chance to beat the Falcons in round one…even at home. And less than nobody gave them a chance against the Panthers… it was meant to be an embarrassing loss for them. But instead, they embarrassed the Panthers instead. Insanity. And I’ll state the obvious… Read the rest of this entry »

It’s (over)time for a change

It’s time for a change….actually it’s overtime.

I’ll make this short and simple. The NFL needs to change it’s overtime rule. A small and simple change: each team gets one shot on offense and from that point it’s sudden death. If the team that gets the ball first scores then their opponent gets a chance to score. If they successfully score, then the game goes on from there in the sudden death format. If they can’t tie or beat the first team then the game ends there. It’s simple and it’s more fair and competative than the current system.

I understand the arguments that all phases of the game are necessary to win and if a team can’t stop an offense they deserve to lose. The problem is… the field is much shorter for the offense. I guess, if you want, you can argue for Bob Ryan’s suggestion that field goals not be allowed in OT (that’s the only part of his suggestion I like). That idea at least levels the playing field. But please… don’t give me any BS about how the NFL is not the NCAA and we can’t have an NCAA overtime. That is NOT what I’m suggesting!

So NFL, get your competition committee together this offseason and start talking about this…it’s time.
